A Spinal Fellow is a fully qualified surgeon who has completed their specialist training in orthopaedic surgery or neurosurgery and is undertaking additional years of advanced sub-specialty training in spinal surgery. They work closely with senior spinal surgeons to provide expert care and are often involved in complex spinal cases.

⚠️ Please note: Consultations with a Spinal Fellow are not eligible for a Medicare rebate. This is because a Fellow is not yet recognised by Medicare as an independent specialist provider, even though they are fully qualified surgeons.
These appointments have been discounted (equivalent to the Medicare rebate) so you will not be disadvantaged by the lack of Medicare rebate.
